Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed certificate of authenticity.

Sumi ink and watercolour on A2 paper 185gsm . Vermeer was a master of topography and a collector of maps as can be observed in his works. It is written that Johannes Vermeer may have used a camera obscura in painting his masterful pieces such as View of the Delf, are nonetheless masterful. Inspiration of his work with capturing daily Dutch life and collection of maps inspired this abstraction of land, mountains and riverways.
