This painting is inspired by the cricket oval in the picturesque village of Irene, South Africa, where I lived for many years. We used to buy fresh milk from a nearby dairy farm , and often spent Sunday afternoons walking around the oval. I now live on Tamborine Mountain, and when I walk past our local oval on my afternoon walks, I remember those carefree days of my childhood growing up in Africa. Over the years, I have often returned to this theme with regularity, as it has become a favourite....
