Covid 19 2020
As the world was plunged into isolation, fear of the unknown and each other with a vigorous sanitation regime, a longing emerged and developed. A longing for outside, for our wild spaces. Spaces where my breath is all that is heard, where the destructive human hand hasn't quite reached, where I could simply be. During the months of solitude in the studio, I developed a series of graphite drawings that depicted fictional landscapes in which I longed to be part of. Many incorporated a flowing water source, be it a bubbling stream, a tributary or a main artery. Emerging out of the isolated state, I have been able to investigate these spaces and draw from them with much content.
