Summer fruits blossom curiously from the imposing and unreachable altitudes of the Alps - Cirsky wanted to combine the technical and classic pleasing arrangement of a still life to the ruggedness of a Swiss Alps landscape scene. The aim - to make the glistening fruits appear "at one" with their surroundings - however giving a nod to fine still life artists like Caravaggio, Rachel Ruysch and Giuseppe Arcimboldo. The scene could have been chaotic, but instead aims towards an unconventional ‘still life’ style – whereby weather provides potential for movement. The fruits dangle precariously in the springtime day, perhaps creating fresh concern for the village life below. Impasto treatment on the mountain face, lends an impression of ruggedness and stability – contrasted by the detailed brushwork on the fruits above.

Unframed. Each animal painted by Cirsky represents commodities traded on the global stock markets such as: gold, copper, silver, oil and iron ore. Hippos bathe in glistening blood diamonds, Dali-esque giraffe heads take off on the stock charts whilst screens flash market gains and losses incessantly - as if oblivious to any suffering or disease. The absence of a lion was intentional - a reminder to the wealthy to invest conscionably and that every investment has a ripple effect. Textural effects and
a parched landscape are contrasted by dramatic clouds over Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro.
