"The air is crowded with birds
to whom life is a song" - George Henry Lewes
So these feathered friends are by far my most favourite subject to paint and after nine years living in Australia a little wren family finally came to visit me in my own garden. I had my old working in the garden specs on when I first spotted the female. I thought wait a minute ... that perky tail carriage looks like a fairy wren. So I strained my eyes till the frown on my forehead formed (old specs remember) and looked around and sure enough there he was Mr Blue himself. I ran inside and up the stairs to grab my camera to capture this Kodak moment but when I came out they had already left without any trace that they had ever been. I instantly rang the wife and said you would never guess what I just saw in our garden and she answered "fairywren" I'm like how did you know?! and she answered "well it had to be that or poodles to get you this excited". Well I've spotted bigfoot but have no proof, will have to be quicker next time let's hope I don't have to wait another 9 years.
