I first spotted these delightful birds on our first trip to the very remarkable Kangaroo Island. Whist driving around I kept seeing this lightning fast scurrying into the bushes. I was wearing my old specs at the time so thought they were tiny field mice but then Megan corrected me by advising me that it was in fact birds. So upon closer inspection (with my new specs) we discovered the place was loaded with them. They’re very antsy as we found when we tried to photograph them, they don’t sit still for longer than 2 seconds. It's now 4 years down the line and they are by far my favourite subject to paint.
