Just a fun quirky painting portraying my love for Scarlet Robins.
"A heart without dreams is like a bird without feathers." - Suzy Kassem
I don’t know about the rest of you but I love a good folklore, I found this one about the Scarlet Robin and had to share. Various species of the Australian Robins have the red feathering breasts but those of the Scarlet Robin are extra bright. This feature captured the attention of the Indigenous Noongar people of south-western Australia, who considered the red coloration of the Robin’s breast to have been stained by blood. The Robin is said to have been punched on the nose (or beak) by a pugnacious Willie Wagtail, causing it to bleed. When the blood trickled down from the wounded beak, it is said to have discoloured the Robin’s breast.
