This painting begins a series of paintings for exhibition in a years time. It is conceptual and reflects the state and processes of grieving and loss. The Weight reflects the heaviness of the heart, soul, body and mind when the loss of a loved one is experienced, the heaviness of tears as they are wiped away.
In using watercolour I have used salt on wet then allowed it to dry, giving an uneven mottled tones. I have used masking fluid to take back to original layer. The end result with a soft wash of white has given the painting an aged appearance. Not Framed
