Nature’s Window is showing off her beauty by literally framing her artwork for all to enjoy. It is located in Kalbarri National Park,485 km (301 mi) north of Perth, in the Mid West region of Western Australia.
Here is a little bit of history - Nature’s Window is one of Western Australia’s most iconic natural attractions, formed from layers of Tumblagooda Sandstone. It is a wind-eroded opening in the layered sandstone that frames a view of the Murchison River.
The thinly bedded banded rocks through most of the river gorge were deposited millions of years ago on tidal flats. Rippled surfaces can be seen around Nature’s Window. The ripples were formed during ancient times by waves moving over tidal flats in a shallow sea - simply fascinating and I just had to paint it.
