The camels and their handlers came from Afghanistan to open up routes through the Outback which was too hot and dry for horses. This triptych is stunning to view! It is possibly the most ‘optic impact’ work I have done as it covers a view horizon to horizon. The romance of the early explorers surviving their journeys because of these strong, drought resistant, cargo carrying animals is legend. I regret that no photo can truly present this expanse – stand in front of it and follow the journey wherever it takes you.
For provenance, each painting sold from the exhibition includes a glossy full colour printed in Australia magazine plus the exhibition catalogue.
