Emma Hack @emmahackartist is an is an internationally known, Adelaide-based, body paint and photographic installation artist. She is known for her flair for illusion and camouflage which set the basis for my compositional concept. During our sitting she referenced Escher's 'Drawing Hands' as an important early influence. Colour is fundamental in Emma's work and her clear appreciation vivid colour & design is evident in her art and transcends into her personality. I applied colour in its purest form allowing the eye to blend the dots together to deliver something far more realistic in its appearance then its application - thus manipulating optical illusion as part of my technique. My four hands represent the intimate connections Emma has with the models she paints, but also how the essence of art paints Emma the person in return.
