The artwork is a culmination of 10 years work. The original, a landscape was done when the artist was 10. At 18 the artist altered the work adding bright strips of paint in reds and blues to signify their change of style and remove the 'mistakes' of the old work. 2 years later during a performance into the artists psyche the work was covered in a thin veneer of white house paint and charcoal. The artist then placed a can of cream house paint above the painting and punctured it with a screwdriver. The performance continued for the length of the dripping painting as the artist drilled bars into a shed from the inside. The painting was a representation of the artists psyche and a destruction of the self through Australian suburbia. This is the finished product 6 months on, a remnant of performance.
