100 Origami cranes

Family Circle is where we feel safe, protected and loved. The artwork uses colour and shape to express diversity and unity.

‘Family Circle’ is created with 100 individually folded origami cranes in three sizes, and each one is unique. Each origami crane is folded with tweezers due to their sizes. The exquisite papers used are made in Japan.

Cranes are a symbol of good luck and longevity. The act of folding is contemplative, and in this artwork it took considerable time.

The colourful palette and shape sizes were carefully chosen. The placement of each crane is precise and is essential in the overall design. The circular design creates movement and strength, and makes the view interesting from every angle. The shadows formed by the cranes add another dimension.
