Whether it is morning or evening the Bungle Bungle Ranges seem to explode out of the flat landscape in bursts of browns, oranges and reds as the ancient Sandstone catches the morning and evening light. The Purnululu National Park has many, many acres of these formations which at times seem to be fitted together like a jig saw puzzle. The painting has underneath texture layers portraying the fossilised landscape. This unique land is the inspiration for this whimsical paintings we move out of lock down and into wider Australia.

The Aquamarine, Cobalt and Aqua acrylic on canvas forms the dark, brilliant background for the splendour of the red monolith formations, rocks and whimsical trees and foliage. The painting has a fair amount of texture which gives the impression of the layers of rock and build up of fossils over millions of years.
