Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

The series of paintings representing impressions of bends in the Ovens River have been varied and this painting is another view. This time a bend of the river which is littered with the debris from falling trees and scrubland which will eventually become the ground cover enabling the forest to keep generating. This painting was undertaken after the shocking bush fires and represents the ongoing resilience of nature.

Medium

Texture has been used to represent the density of the scrubland and to emphasise the foreground river bank. The painting is composed of background layers of blues, greens and white acrylics. The trees are painted in contrasting midnight blue, burnt umber, blacks, ghost gum and whites to produce a layering effect.
