Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This painting developed from my initial selection of one of my favourite colour combinations and it incorporates a dark moody sky and a strange, yet kind of familiar beachscape. I could ramble on about metaphors of biblical proportions, like foolishly building your house on the moving sands. Or about how the building of sandcastles is a symbol of life where it's beauty lies in it's fragility and impermanence, only to be swept away by the evening tide. But I won't, it's just funky and cool and everything I like. There is a sombre transient light, it's large scale, great depth of field and popping industrial colours. This unique piece has the sides painted, signed on the front, it's varnished and ready to hang with wire across the back. A talking point in any room! Recently shortlisted for art prize.
