Wattle Bird With A Bottle Brush Tree

Linocut Print Of A Wattle Bird With A Bottle Brush Tree
This is a linocut print is taken from a drawing I created of Australian native plants — the Bottle Brush with a Wattle Bird.

Printmaking and linocut printing is one of my favourite mediums to work with. I'm inspired by working with line, texture and tone and the slow methodical way of hand carving the block prior to printing. The printing of the lino block is another art in itself, each print is unique and has a certain character.

Some of my main influences include the Australian printmakers: Margret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan and the Japanese printmaker: Un'ichi Hiratsuka and the Sōsaku-hanga woodblock print movement ("creative prints") from the 20thC.

Paper: Cotton Rag Paper 250 gsm

These prints are hand-carved and printed, so there will be slight variations with each print.
