The Australian bush is a constant source of inspiration to me.
This painting is of sugar gums in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges.
The sugar gum, is a species of eucalypt tree found in South Australia.
The tree notable for its mottled colourful yellow to orange bark. The old bark is smooth and grey, shedding in irregular patches to expose the fresh yellowy-brown bark.
Sugar Gums from the Flinders Ranges reach up to 35 metres (115 ft) in height.
north of Adelaide. The discontinuous ranges stretch for over 430 km from Port Pirie to Lake Callabonna.
