Postcards and souvenirs depict Australia as a land of sunshine and plenty, where big fruit and manicured wilderness often loom large. Cavorting in these scenes are pale holidaymakers who are just a few minutes away from turning bright red. My Sweeties series plays with these blissful images, creating a world where the natural and the artificial become interchangeable. Juicy fruits are arranged with little candied copies of themselves. Sweetness is cut through with a hint of spikiness.
