Artwork Description

"Chubby Chick"
We visited the Albatross Colony in NZ last week and the baby Albatross have been put on a weight loss program by the adult birds, as they prepare to fledge.
They feed their chicks less and make them waddle over to eat, (exercise) to prepare them for flight.
One 7 month chick weighed 13.4 kg and an adult usually only weighs about 8kg!!!!!
Wow, the food must be good there!!!
I couldn't wait to get home and paint one, they are so gorgeous.
