Groynes are Beautiful!
Ever heard of a " Groyne" I certainly hadn't. But still contemplating the king tides this week and Climate change, melting icecaps, etc.
I have often come across a group of timber or iron fences built at right angles to the beach and always thought they were the remains of dilapidated piers.
But some of the really old ones were built to stop the movement of material along the beach by long shore drift.
In other words, to help manage erosion.
Whatever, they often catch my eye as weathered skeletons stretching out into the seas.
Ink on board.
