The Jacaranda Trees are out everywhere around here and this is my
Tribute to them.
“Jacaranda Memory. “
Out on the dry and dusty plains,
No other tree in sight,
The purple Jacaranda
Is splendid in its might.
Lilac branches stretch across
The rusty old hills hoist,
And she hangs out reddish washing
With a smile upon her face.
No matter where she looks,
No matter what she can see,
It’s the undisputed magic
Of the Jacaranda tree.
Laughing in the breeze
It’s fingers stretching high
Draped in Mardi opulence
Another day goes by.
When the night comes falling
On that dry and dusty shack,
She remembers days of green, green grass
And her tree of lilac.........
