There are still working shearing sheds all over Australia but a lot sit totally abandoned, growing old and weary with no use.

Where the earth is a fine red sand
Forgotten, alone and in ruins,
The abondoned shearing shed stands.
It was built of rough bush timber,
Each log cut by willing hands,
By the pioneers of days gone by,
When first they’d come to this land. “
