The Narran Lakes, North Western, NSW, are a deeply spiritual place for Aboriginal people. They have also been a source of food and trading place for thousands of years.
Bush tomatoes, spinach, basil and wild parsley along with mussels, birds, kangaroos and emus, provided rich and varied foods in an otherwise arid landscape.
Many stone artifacts can be found here waiting patiently for another time.
Having stepped upon the Narrans' crusty surface and listened to the echos of silence, I felt a deep sense of peace and belonging in this ancient landscape.
