My father used to paint prolifically but he stopped before I was born. I have only seen one of his paintings in a photo I saw a few years ago. It was a blanket draped over a chair. A visit to Stieg Persson's show at the Ian Potter Museum in Parkville last year would have also influenced my decision to paint a black ground and an item suspended in space.
The painting is on MDF board and is unframed. The edges are painted with white gesso. The entire surface is varnished.
