Oil Paint on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed with a certificate of authenticity.
A large scale painting by professional Perth artist, Mia Laing. An imaginary realism oil painting, created after witnessing a cheeky swan gatecrash a romantic picnic, stealing strawberries.
I explored elements from the 'Strawberry Thief' fabric, created in the late 1800's by William Morris, using the Australian Spotted Pardalote, in place of the original thrushes found stealing fruit in his garden. I added a rabbit in honour of Beatrix Potter, born in the mid 1800's, the quill to give thanks to the original creatives who inspired this piece. I used my own reference photos for the swan, the fruit and still-life to help set the narrative.
This is a large scale work and will be a statement piece for any beautiful home or business. Painted on a stretched canvas, it is ready to hang as is or can be further finished with a frame. Signed on the front and varnished for protection. Certificate of Authenticity supplied.
