The island where I live in Moreton Bay is shrouded by a fringe of foliage, through which glimpses of the sapphire blues of the water and other islands reveal themselves between patches of darkness. As I walk through this layer of forest, the setting sun sends its fingers out and colours the branches and leaves the most stunning hues of orange, salmon and red. It's a magic time in an even more magical place.
