I created Portrait of Kangaroo No. 46 'Call me Freddy' at the time the Queen movie was release. I was always a fan of Queen especially Freddy Mercury. On this occasion, I noticed a young frisky male eastern grey kangaroo have his early morning stretch. The pose immediately reminded me of Freddy Mercury in one of his typical stage stances. You will notice that I even added a little tattoo on his arm 'Call me Freddy'.
The drawing is energetic, strong and large with brisk linework yet with subtle detail as well. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.
