2018. 8"x10". Oil on panel. Finished with Art Spectrum Damar Varnish.
This is definitely one of my favourite food paintings so far! I was craving some toasties and as soon as I saw that cheese spilling out, I knew I had to stack them, photograph and paint them! I really wanted that golden colour of the buttery, toasted bread and the melted cheese to stand out. Just as I started to paint the background, I deviated from my usual plain burnt umber background and opted for a beautiful splash of colour to really brighten up the overall painting.
The frame is made of Meranti wood, finished with a Natural Satin stain/varnish. The framed painting measures 28x23x3cm.
