Venice in Italy , is an island city . It is built on a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and connected by 438 bridges . Gondolas are flat bottomed boats traditionally used in Venice using a single rowing oar which are a popular way of getting around and used for tourists . A beautiful sight with houses and building along the river, washing hanging up and flowers in pots on the balcony’s cascading down from the homes. Skilful gondolas weaving their way amongst the bright and colourful houses with the calmness of the water beneath them. These homes are connected by the bridges and people come and go all day long . A pleasing bright composition would remind you of Italy if you have ever been there .
