Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

The inspiration for "Love in Spring" came from my one and only Clivia plant showing off her vibrant blooms this Spring. Always one for the natural beauty in Nature and her glorious colours. Just what one needs to cheer one up after the Winter months and especially for those of us in long lockdowns.
This is another of my colourful artworks which began with heavy pigmented inks on a water sprayed canvas, covered with the plastic wrap the canvas arrived in. Before letting it dry, I moved the inks around under the plastic, creating new tones as well as textures and markings. Once dry, I used gesso to mark the blooms and leaves, which I then created with acrylics of Matisse and Atelier brand using some artistic license.
Original painting created in October 2021. Signed on the front. Ready to hang.
Mixed media by using Art Spectrum Inks as base, impressionistic floral design with artist quality Acrylics on stretched canvas.
Styled scene, signature, edges and hanging setting is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this artwork may enhance your wall.
Finished with satin varnish for protection.
