When spring comes and the air feels fresh and warmer with the promise of warm summer days, I know I am done waiting (for summer). Inspired by this impatient feeling and the colours that will warm from spring into summer, I created this painting with its swirls of impatience and the teasing of colours of magenta pink, citrine lime and sienna.
There is a surprise in this painting that can only be seen from a certain angle and perhaps this is the more literal interpretation.
Inspiration
Created for a series called “When Summer Comes”, capturing the freedom, longing, and anticipation of summer. The “ When Summer Comes” series explores the gestures and stances of people. And while this painting is an abstract, you will still see these gestures if you look closely. The edge view included in the pictures will give you a little insight.
