Acrylic on paper
Signed on the front.
Imagine yourself sailing into a harbour. You have been watching the detail of the houses slowly become clear as you sail closer. You look up to see the hillside houses settled so timelessly into the hill above, and you hear the noises of the town. The smells of the harbour. The bells of the church. Somewhere in this town Jemima's house is calling you to find it.
Painting using layers of acrylic wash (glazes) over thick deep shadows. The painting has a aged feel to its colours and style, which is introduced by the simple pallet and the architecture represented. Yet its style is very contemporary with a simplicity and economy of pallet knife and brush work.
Acrylic paint on 300gsm paper, unframed.
The painting measures 297 x 420 mm (A3)
Signed on the front lower right with the artists name, contact details, medium and date on the back.
