Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This painting was a finalist for Hornsby Art Prize 2022.

Inspired by the ‘Purna-ghata’ flower urn used for decoration in Buddhist temple. This flower urn is a symbol of abundance, creativity and prosperity. Based on the same idea, I create my own version using calla lilies to signify beauty and purity. I also replace the urn with a blue and white China porcelain bowl to represent power and wealth.
