I've wanted to paint something like this for some time. Bamboo makes for a beautiful pop art style silhouette‚ and some of my other work has been influenced by Japanese imagery. My original draft of this painting was red‚ black and white‚ and while I might still attempt a painting in those colours‚ I think the harmonious green and black tones are better suited to the home environment‚ and would make for a great lounge room piece.
