This is my original, matted and framed Pastel Wildlife Portrait, "Vince" the Frill-Necked Lizard. I named this one Vince after my favourite Australian jazz musician and composer, Vince Jones because it's frill reminded me of the bell of a flugelhorn (at which Vince is proficient).

Frill-Necked Lizards are native to Northern Australia and southern New Guinea and were featured on Australia's two-cent coin until it was withdrawn from circulation in 1992. These lizards are interesting characters: they spend most of the time in trees, each one's colouring depends on its specific environment and they can run on 2 legs (worth watching on YouTube!). 10% of the profit made from the sale of this artwork will be donated to the Australian Conservation Foundation, to help them in their efforts to protect our environment and wildlife.

Vince was created with Pan Pastels and Pastel pencils on Canson Mi-Teintes paper. It comes matted, framed and ready-to-hang with D-hooks and picture wire attached. Please rest assured the blue text is simply a watermark for the photograph.

The image size in the mat is 27.5cm (w) x 27.5cm (h). The external dimensions of the mat are 40cm (w) x 40cm (h). The frame is 45cm (w) x 45cm (h).

The frame is a stained black timber and the mat is black.

This is a pastel wildlife portrait of a red-tailed phascogale. It is a small, grey, mouse-like creature with pink ears, nose, and feet. It's tail is a darker shade of red-pink at its base, and has feathery, black fur along the last 2 thirds of its length. It's depicted hugging a tree branch at night."Sylvester" is a pastel wildlife portrait of a Kowari, who is shown full-length eating an insect against the backdrop of a red stony desert. This is a pastel still life of a beautiful aqua-blue pump motor and its electrical outlets."Beatrix" is a pastel wildlife portrait of an endangered Gilbert's Potoroo, shown in its habitat with red native truffles (its favourite food). These nocturnal marsupials were thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1994, at Two Peop
