Other Media on wood, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
Artwork was created during my time at art school at Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland, New Zealand. It's one of the few remains artworks from that period, and recently taken out of storage and the shown for the first time since the late 90's.
During this time I was painting a lot of abstract geometric structures base on the Golden Section. With these works I started experimenting with two new elements: people and encaustic paint.
Painted with handmade encaustic paint, made from beeswax, coloured pigment, and damar resin. The damar resin was to harden the wax and raise the melting point.
Artwork is hung on by two long hooks as shown on the photo.
