This artwork focuses on a small part of the back of a wollemi pine leaf. Originally, Frisk film was cut for each leaflet and applied to the paper to allow me to focus on each leaflet at a time. Soft pastels were used as a base and coloured pencil was applied over the top.
I am interested in the wollemi pine due to my love of anything prehistoric and I own my own wollemi pine but the subject of this artwork was based on a specimen at the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, Mt Tomah.
