This delightful family of red squirrels are rugged up in their Winter woolies and enjoying eating berries on a cold Winter's day.

This watercolour painting is inspired by fond memories of living in Scotland and walking to school, as a young child, on bitterly cold, Winter mornings through a park where squirrels darted up trees and skipped over the woodland floor, searching for food. I've always had a soft spot for squirrels.

I had a bit of fun with this one and decided to dress up the squirrels in Winter clothing with junior squirrel comically turning upside down on the branch , wearing his blue Wellington boots to grab the berries.
