Kali is the goddess embodying shakti - feminine energy. She is most often represented in art as a fearful fighting figure, but there is an alternate side to her - of love, creativity and fertility. The goddess has been depicted here in a different light, yet retaining her dark blue skin, in line with her Sanskrit name that means 'one who is dark'
