Watching the monks strolling through Angkor Wat or City Temple, as it is known in the Cambodian language, I was struck by the centuries the complex was hidden in the jungle and yet it seemed that these monks still belonged there. There is a strange feeling of inner peace that pervades in and around the temples. The architecture and the bas-relief of the Devas adorning the walls is a constant source of amazement at the craftsmanship and beauty from so long ago.
