Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

This is a hand-coloured, dry point etching. I made 3 separate dry point panels from acetate and then glued them down onto a sheet of MDF so that I could ink and print the panels as one piece. This is the second one I have produced and each is hand-coloured in their own unique state. There are sections of gold and silver leaf, and is painted in gouache. The background to the story is the original fun park that existed at Tamarama Beach in 1910's, where a cable car was erected across the beach from either end of the bay. The original sketches I did when I lived in Wonderland Ave above the beach in the late 1980's, and was reading Alice in Wonderland at the time and learnt of the story of the fun park from local people.
