When I first saw this place the rain was falling softly but with the promise of it clearing. The view up the gully was enticing and I knew there was opportunity if the rain stopped and the misty clouds lifted just a little.
After a while those clouds did rise and my wait was rewarded. The eucalypts, soaked by the rain, were painted in saturated colours by the filtered sunlight. It was a grand announcement of the forest's regeneration after catastrophic fires.
Photographed on Fuji Velvia film using the Linhof 6 x 17cm format.
