For Australia and our planet to transition through climate change and the host of other environmental issues we face, we must reduce our footprint, take our boots off, feel the earth under our feet as our First Nations people did and do… and tread lightly.

My intention with this piece is to encourage viewers to stop and think…. What do they see…. Heavy boots, drought, a dry landscape, a creek bed, our carbon footprint…. Australia?

I studied dry riverbeds and used that as my reference but felt that I wanted to have a ‘hidden’ message…. *The outline of Australia within the cracked earth (bottom right hand corner).
