DESCRIPTION

The northern territory of Western Australia offers constantly changing patterns, colours and vistas. A never ending supply of inspiration for the artist willing to travel vast distances. A very spiritual place steeped in ancient history. The meaning of 'black stump' - remote. This is not a term used much today. A Billabong is a waterhole. Thus 'Black stump billabong' seemed to sum up the isolation and vastness of the landscape that inspired my painting.
