Bloodlines VI is part of a series of photographs that were made during my year long artist in residency at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.
Photographs of seaweeds from the Garden's Herbarium collection have been superimposed over images of broken fragments of old statuary – the similarity of structure between some seaweeds and the blood vessels of the human body leading me to explore imagery that could stand as a metaphor for the ancient lineage that connects us to plants.
These photographs are strictly limited to an edition of 25 copies and are printed archivally on 300gsm rag paper (matte). There is a generous paper border.
