DESCRIPTION

The consume series explores human nature and the symbolic meaning of fruit in the tradition of Dutch still life paintings of the 16th and 17th century. Continuing the customs of vanitas painting, the work investigates decay, opulence and greed. The engaging addition of human subjects forces the audience to question the motives of the characters as well as wider human behaviour. How often are our actions occur without the forethought of our future wellbeing?
