About Gerald Curtin

In May 2018, I stopped teaching English to high school students to earn a living from abstract photography. This is an important step. While I have had a lifelong interest in photography, I have left my familiar shore and am discovering a new one. Abstract photography asks me to think outside of the square. It leads, often, to the unexpected which must then be developed further. It lives in colour and seeks form and texture, lighting, contrast, exposure, composition and, above all, emotion. For me, it begins with the every day, and ends with the remarkable. I hope you enjoy my images as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
