Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.

The Cabbage Tree is endemic to New Zealand, and much loved. It is incredibly hardy, but also has been cleared indiscriminately across part of the North Island for farming. The survivors are prone to stock damage, and more recently fungal die-back. The survivors soldier on proudly and majestically.

Waipukurau, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, February 2018

The image has been professionally scanned from the original 35mm negative, and printed using archival pigment ink on resin-coated Kodak lustre photographic paper. The black border indicates a full-frame uncropped image. This image is also available as a handmade darkroom print using traditional photochemical techniques and archival toner.

The default print size is on 12”x16” paper, which equates to an actual image size of 25.5cm x 37.5cm.
Please contact me if you’d like a different size.

The photographic paper size is not indicative of the actual image size on the print as there needs to be white space to allow for framing as well as the edition number & signature.
