Artwork Description

Taking a drive down the mountain from my home-town Maleny in Queensland brings you to the beautiful and natural water reserve of Ewan Maddock Dam. My photography or artist friends and I prefer to go at sunrise. The stillness and early lighting effects are dramatic at this time of the day, as portrayed in this painting.

Medium

Comes with Certificate of Authenticity. This work is created from one of my own photographs and watercolour sketches. I have first sketched the composition with charcoal, applied a thin acrylic wash before working in oil paints. The sides are painted in acrylic. I use artist quality Australian made oil and acrylic paints. This is painted on canvas stretched over a professional stretcher bar. The sides are painted in a blue-black. It can be hung with the D-rings or the wire already attached.
